Joint Statement from Nepean Conservative candidate Barbara Bal & Kanata candidate Greg Kung opposing the construction of tents to house asylum seekers to Canada in Nepean & Kanata

Ottawa, ON – After nine years of Trudeau, the asylum system is full of chaos, fraud and abuse, and the ones having to pay the price are not only legitimate asylum seekers but also Canadians dealing with the government’s failure to manage the chaos.

Trudeau and the NDP-Liberals increased population growth by over 200% over the last several years, with no housing, health care and jobs. Trudeau called anyone who questioned his radical policies, “racist.”

Justin Trudeau’s policies have been deeply unfair to new Canadians who have come to Canada, played by the rules and yet have been left without opportunities for good jobs and affordable homes, and instead, end up in lineups at food banks or live on the street.

The City of Ottawa is being forced to consider building these tent communities to fix the problem created by this incompetent Liberal Prime Minister and his local MPs, Jenna Sudds and Chandra Arya.

CTV Ottawa reported last evening that the City of Ottawa released a report informing the public of the two locations they have chosen to construct sprung structures (tents) to house hundreds of asylum seekers that are being brought to our city by the Trudeau government.

This radical NDP-Liberal government destroyed what was the best immigration system in the world for 150 years prior. Trudeau left Roxham Road open a year after President Biden offered to close it. He removed the visa requirement for Mexico, causing an explosion in phony refugee claims. He allowed rampant fraud and abuse in the International Student Program. He allowed ISIS terrorists into Canada.

We can and must do better for all Canadians. This Liberal Prime Minister and MPs, Jenna Sudds and Chandra Arya are not worth the cost or chaos.
